Informal, but conservative. Beach attire is appropriate for the beach but not town, shops or restaurants.

SHOPPING

There are a few supermarkets on the way to St. John's. The closest is approximately 5 -10 minutes from here. There you will find a wide selection of groceries, fruits and vegetables. Generally the opening hours are from 08:00 to 22:00.

Our main shopping area is in St. John's, the Capital. There you will find many local shops and boutiques. Heritage quay is the duty free shopping area; in order to get the duty free concession you simply show your passport or airline ticket. Here you will find shops such as Diamonds International, Columbian Emeralds, Bennetton and Land Leather Shop.

Redcliffe Quay is another lovely shopping area; walk through this cozy rustic setting and enjoy the variety of high fashion, art and curiosity shops. Then relax in one of the many coffee shops or restaurants. This is also one of our historical sites so you will find many remnants of activities that happened there in the past.

Shopping hours in St. John's are generally from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday to Saturday.

CURRENCY

Official currency of Antigua is the Eastern Caribbean dollar.

TAXIS

As there is no public transportation system to and from this part of the island, taxis and or car rentals is the way to get around. You may also arrange to share a taxi so that you can also save on cost of tours and taxi trips. Taxis may be booked through the front desk.
