Sailing in Antigua:
Antigua is in the middle of the Leeward Islands in the Eastern Caribbean.Its
location is considered one of the best yachting and sailing destinations
in the Caribbean benefiting from trade winds that are almost always
constant.
For the hobby sailor or explorer who wants to see what the coastline
hides there are numerous boat tours, from small single crew sailboats
through to large cruisers and catamarans. Antigua has an abundance
of natural harbours, bays and beaches that you will want to explore.
There are yearly events organised by the official Antigua Yacht Club.
These include the High Tide Series, Green Island Race, informal Round-the-Island-Race
and the "after work" Thursday afternoon races for all-comers.
There are also other sailing events such as the Jolly Harbour Yacht
Club Valentine's Day Regatta, Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta, and the
Antigua Yacht Club Mega Yacht Regatta to mention a few.
