SPRING HILL RIDING CLUB
this superb horse riding centre, complete with Olympic-size ménage, will host the Caribbean Equestrian Association Junior Showjumping Challenge. A big two-day event, it is the first in a series of competitions which includes Barbados, Trinidad, Jamaica and possibly two other islands. Bar and Barbecue accompany this lively event. 31st - HERITAGE (NATIONAL DRESS) DAY
part of the annual Independence Celebrations from two weeks preceding this day, schools, business places and government buildings commence decorations for judging. There is the official launching of celebrations, a service of Thanksgiving, various programmes and events up to the 31st, which is National Dress Day, with Food Fair and exhibition followed by a Ceremonial Parade on 1st November. An annual tradition - many visitors and locals gather here from noon onwards for partying to live bands, quaffing reasonably priced bottles of champagne (kept in a ice-filled bath), with all proceeds going to the Hourglass Foundation Charity. Join us for a historical, colourful, festive day.
